Yesterday, April 1st may have been a great day for you, but it was a terrible day for me. During the day, my top blog, which produces a respectable income, was down for nearly four hours. From 12:30 p.m. to 4:20 p.m., the site was unavailable to hundreds of search engine users. The outage was caused by a network problem and an ASO worker's misconfiguration.

The network problem began at 12:30 p.m. and was fixed 45 minutes later. The affected domains were transferred to a new IP address, but the mapping was incorrect. So, starting at 1:00 p.m., my blog's homepage was redirected to some nonsense location. This resulted in a large number of 404 errors.

Many visitors were under the impression that my blog had been compromised, but this was not the case. The problem was resolved after four to five interactions with ASO support. Take a look at the screenshot of Google analytics for evidence.

My blog was hosted on a tiny orange shared hosting plan when the problem arose.

So, I'm not going to suggest that ASO is a poor hosting company. However, if your site attracts 4000 to 5000 regular users, you should consider using a more reputable hosting business. I'm not leaving ASO because the service is excellent and the servers are reliable. However, I've switched my primary website to HostGator. The Hostile blog continues to be hosted on a tiny orange server.

Hostgator has an excellent live support team that will assist you with any hosting or configuration issues you might have. Many people claim that HostGator's customer service is bad, but I disagree. Yes, indeed! It's possible that resolving the ticket will take some time. But why should you open a help ticket when you can solve your issue in a matter of minutes?

In a real-time chat session, I interacted with two HostGator support staff members. The first session took 3 minutes to complete, while the second took just 30 seconds.

Memory and CPU utilization: Hostgator's servers are well-equipped. They limit the maximum server resource consumption to 25%. If your website's coding is poor, the RAM and CPU consumption will exceed 25, and Hostgator support will suspend your account.

Plan: I've purchased a baby plan. This plan allows me to host an infinite number of domains on the same account. The bandwidth is unrestricted. You have unlimited MYSQL databases, FTP accounts, and email accounts. The maximum number of inodes is 250000. The Linux Centos operating system is in charge of the Hostgator baby program.

Features: Hostgator provides me with a number of resources to help me refine and develop my blog. Here are the most important:

Anti-hotlink: You may disable the hotlink plugin in the Hostgator Cpanel if you don't want users to link to your photos or media material on other websites.

WP installer with a single click: If you want to use WordPress CMS as a front end, you can install it on the server with just one click. Additionally, this installer will build a database for you.

Backup Wizard: Hostgator states explicitly in this article that the DB backup plugin uses a lot of CPU and RAM. As a result, you should refrain from using it. You may use Hostgator's backup tool to build or restore DB and file backups.

Weebly: Press the Weebly icon in the Cpanel to open a tiny static site with 7 to 10 pages. Weebly is a free website builder with some useful features. Before you hire someone to create a website for you, you can give it a shot.

Picture manager: This is a valuable method for converting images between different formats. It can also be used to scale or generate thumbnails of photographs.

Hostgator creates log files for website errors and visitor records, as well as traffic and error logs. Cpanel also provides resources for viewing Website statistics and bandwidth use over the course of a day. His Cpanel contains Webalizer, AWStats, and raw log data, much like ASO's.

Network tools: If you're having trouble connecting to your website or blog, you can use the Cpanel to run a trace-route order. Simply go to your Cpanel and click on the network tools button.

DNS editing: The Hostgator Cpanel makes it easy to change DNS settings. When using the DNS editor, be cautious since incorrect configuration will result in your site's demise. Crawlers from search engines won't be able to index your articles either.

Many webmasters have lost income and website traffic as a result of poor DNS setup, according to Google webmaster forums.

Cancellation policy: If you are dissatisfied with Hostgator website hosting, you have 45 days to request a refund.
